Founded by Will Cheng in 2012, the company has faced regulatory probes in China over safety and operations licensing.

“I’m not sure what the final consequences might be, but repression against regulation has been a constant concern even before the list, as Didi has already been called twice by regulators,” said Sumeet Singh, director of Aequitas Research, which publishes in Smartkarma. he told Reuters on Saturday ahead of Li’s publication.

The cyberspace agency has not given any indication of how long the investigation will last, nor any other details.

Didi said on Friday that he would conduct a comprehensive cybersecurity risk analysis and cooperate with the relevant government authority. In addition to breaking new user records in China, he said it was working normally.
