(Reuters) – Unilever (NYSE 🙂 Plc talks with banks about additional financing for a potentially sweet offer for GlaxoSmithKline (NYSE 🙂 Plc’s consumer products division, Bloomberg reported at https://www.bloomberg.com / news / articles / 2022-01-16 / unilever-es-said-to-weigh-raising-offer-for-glaxo-consumer-unit? sref = WJKVI5nK on Sunday, citing people who know the subject.

Unilever and GSK did not immediately respond to Reuters’ comments.

GSK reported that Unilever had turned down a £ 50bn ($ 68.37bn) bid for a consumer goods weapon and the news came one day. GSK said it had received three offers from Unilever, the latest on December 20.

Unilever may eventually sell some non-core assets from GSK’s portfolio to private shareholders to internal buyers, which could help fund a purchase, the Bloomberg report added.

($ 1 = £ 0.73)
