One dead, 14 wounded in a shooting at a Texas vigil

(Reuters) – A person was killed and 14 were injured in a shooting on Sunday in Houston, Texas, according to a county sheriff.

A large crowd gathered at the “celebration of life” as a vehicle approached and someone who was there opened fire, Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez said on Twitter (NYSE :).

Three of the 14 injured were in critical condition, the sheriff said.

The shooting occurred at block 1400 of the North Market Loop in Baytown, where he was guarding another victim of another shooting, according to the Houston Chronicle.
