IND vs NZ: Axar Patel chooses fifth place in four tests

India’s left-arm spinner Axar Patel recorded his fifth shot on Saturday against New Zealand in the fourth round at Kanpur’s Green Park.

He opened his account with veteran Ross Taylor’s wicket early in the morning before adding the precious scalps of Henry Nicholls, Tom Latham, Tom Blundell and Tim Southeer.

As Taylor walked away, trapped behind a slow turn, Nicholls missed a sweep before being caught in the leg. He then went on to clean up Southee and Blundell instead of goalkeeper KS Bharat after being stunned at Latham 95 with a cunning and shorter delivery.

He currently has the second most five-fors in the first four individual events alongside Englishman Tom Richardson and Australian Rodney Hogg. Charlie Turner is an Australian with six picks on the charts in his first four test matches.
