LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – On Wednesday, singer Britney Spears won the right to choose her lawyer to help end a 13-year-old conservatory and cried in court for the immediate dismissal of her father from the role of controlling his business.

Her father, Jamie Spears, has been a major figure at the conservatory since it was founded in 2008, when her daughter was mentally ill. He is currently solely responsible for his $ 60 million estate.

“You allow my father to ruin my life,” Spears told a Los Angeles judge over the phone. “I need to free my father and denounce the abuse of the Conservative,” he added.

Speaking about 10 minutes on Wednesday, 39-year-old Spears said he has always been “terrified of my father.”

He said he had been disgusted with multiple psychological assessments for the past 13 years and wanted to finish the conservatory without another.

“I’m not the perfect person … but their goal is to make me feel crazy,” Spears said. Details of Spears’ mental health problems have never been made public.

He said last month the legal arrangement was abusive and stupid in a 20-minute public address.

Los Angeles Supreme Court Judge Brenda Penny on Wednesday approved former federal prosecutor Mathew Rosengart to replace Spears. A lawyer appointed by the singer’s court resigned last week.

Rosengart, who has replaced Hollywood stars Seng Penn and Steven Spielberg, said his goal is to end the conservatory.

“Does anyone think Mr. Spears’ continued involvement is in Britney Spears ’favor?” Rosengart said. “If she loves her daughter, it’s time to step aside.”

It is likely that Rosengarten’s first job was to submit a formal document requesting the cancellation of the conservatory.

Spears on Wednesday released a video of him doing the wheels to celebrate what he called a “true representation”.

“You don’t know what it means to be helped by such great fans !!!! God bless you all !!!!!” he wrote on his Instagram account, adding the hashtag #FreeBritney.

In June, he complained that the pop star was prevented from marrying or having more children, and said he was forced to take medication against his will.

Jamie Spears ’lawyer said Wednesday that many of the singer’s complaints were not valid.

“I’m not sure if Ms. Spears understands that she can make medical decisions and whether or not she can implement birth control devices,” said attorney Vivian Thoreen.

Thoreen said Spears believes his father is “responsible for the bad thing that happened to him and that this is the farthest from the truth.”

Outside the courthouse, dozens of fans gathered, shouting “Free Britney” and calling for the conservatory to end. A smaller gathering was held around the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC

“If you look at it, it looks tired. It wants life again and I fully understand that,” said Christina Goswick fans.

Penny did not make a decision on 24/7 security requests after death threats against those who attended the conservatory.

Pop star Jodi Montgomery, Jamie Spears, Ingham and all of the singer’s sister Jamie Lynn Spears have received threatening calls and messages have increased since the pop star appeared in court on June 23, according to court documents. .

The next session of the lawsuit was set for Sept. 29.
