LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – Alec Baldwin said in a televised interview that he did not fire a live bullet at the set of “Rust” and hit the trigger of a gun that killed a cinematographer, according to an episode released on Wednesday. .

Baldwin, who was holding a pistol in a rehearsal when he was fired, was talking about the October 21 shooting in New Mexico for his first full interview.

“Well, the trigger didn’t pull. I didn’t hit the trigger,” the actor told ABC television journalist George Stephanopoulos, according to an excerpt from Thursday’s interview.

“So you’ve never held the trigger?” Stephanopoulos asked Baldwin.

“No, no, no. I’d never point a gun at anyone and shoot them. Never,” Baldwin replied.

He added that he did not know how a live bullet came to the set of a western film about Santa Fe.
