(Reuters) – Facebook (NASDAQ 🙂 Meta Platforms Inc. the head of parental communications, John Pinette, will leave the company, the social media company said Friday night.
Chris Norton, vice president of international communications, is set to step down, a spokesman for Meta said in an email to Reuters.
“John Pinett has left Meta. We are grateful for the positive contributions he has made to a vibrant and significant time in the company’s history, and wish him well in the future,” the statement said.
The spokesman declined to say why Pinette left, citing Meta policy of not commenting on staffing issues.
The Wall Street Journal reported Pinette’s departure for the first time on Friday.
Pinette was named vice president of Global Communications in April 2019, according to the company’s website.
Prior to joining the company, he directed communications for Pinette Gates Ventures, Bill Gates ’private office and innovation lab, for five years, and was head of communications for Asia Pacific at Google (NASDAQ :). He also held product and corporate communications leadership positions Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: .O).
