It’s time to close the book about the Wrestelmania season by 2021. WWE will return to the PPV this Sunday with the Tampati Wrestlemania Backlash and the title fight trio. The PPV event Wrestlemania from 1999 to 2009 was the first reaction to the PPV’s backlash. The card will feature some Wrestlemania farewells, as well as some cool games, mixed with plenty of fun.

In a head-to-head match, Bobby Lashley will place the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre and Braun Strowman in a triple threat.

The WWE WrestleMania Backlash will take place on Sunday, May 16 at the Yuengling Center in Tampa. The main show will begin at 7pm on ET and will be broadcast live on Peacock with sessions kicking off the festivities an hour earlier. Let’s take a look at the confirmed WrestleMania Backlash matches, as well as what else can be added to the match card based on the weekly direction of the current TV show.

WWE WrestleMania Backlash Games

WWE Championship – Bobby Lashley (c) vs Drew McIntyre vs Braun Strowman: Although Lashley clearly won to start the first night of WrestleMania, Lashley clearly announced that they would postpone the clash between the two. It was a strange decision, for sure, as McIntyre’s loss would seemingly ensure that he was taken out of the title picture for the foreseeable future. McIntyre’s win would also mean that WWE has given him a “WrestleMania moment” in front of the public after winning the title in the empty WrestleMania 36 Performance Center in 2020. McIntyre won the Raw by beating Randy Orton and Braun Strowman before the T-Bar and Mace attacks, the Retribution. Perhaps WWE found the discovery of Lashley or McIntyre when Strowman beat McIntyre on Raw – with the help of Mace and T-Bar – to turn the game into a triple threat.

Universal Championship – Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cesaro: Cesaro challenged Reigns to SmackDown before the champion laughed at him before pairing with Jey Uso. Cesaro’s problems with Seth Rollins continued to hang in his head while Reigns fought Daniel Bryan and defeated him. After Reigns defeated Bryan, Cesaro forced Bryan to watch him give him a chair. Cesaro eventually kept his chance to challenge for the title in a match that says he would win the title with a victory when he defeated Rollins on SmackDown.

Women’s Championship SmackDown – Bianca Belair (c) vs Bayley: After defeating Sasha Banks at WrestleMania to capture the title, it looked like it could be a rematch for Belair at WrestleMania Backlash. Instead, he gets Bayley, Banks ’best friend. Bayley didn’t do much at WrestleMania, as different stages were interrupted and interrupted between games and the Bella Twins were embarrassed. Bayley’s good faith is certainly strong, however, as he has been the longest SmackDown women’s champion in WWE history. He will be tasked with regaining the title while Belair renews the old competition that came with the promotion to the title.

Gross Women’s Championship – Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair: Flair WrestleMania’s absence was surprising, but once the biggest show on the calendar was in the books, Flair came back and reported that he had plans to become champion again. He then attacked Asuka and Ripley in a rematch on WrestleMania Raw. After Ripley announced in a match with Asuka that he would defend the title, Flair also asked for permission to play in the match, at the request of Sonya Deville.

SmackDown Tag Team Championship – Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode (c) vs. Dominik and Rey Mysterio: Mysterios are trying to become the first father-son in WWE history to become champions when they take on Roode and Ziggler. The champions have not played in a memorable tournament, having defended the tournament twice since catching their belts in January. The pair have also not been seen at a 2021 payment ceremony.

Damian Priest Vs. The Miz (Lumberjack Match): Priest and Bad Bunny beat Miz and John Morrison at WrestleMania. This did not bed up the problems between the men, however, and the match between Raw Morrison and Priest was set with the winner to establish the Priest vs Miz disposition in Backlash. Priest won the match and chose a Lumberjack Match to let Miz run anywhere.
