Apollo Ghost Review: It’s very powerful, it’s scary

I threw my whole body back when I hit the engine tied to the two engines, so … calm down! The fast speed is gratifying but also scary. It doesn’t take much time to get past 30 mph. It may not seem like you’re used to riding in the car so fast, but when you’re balancing on a scooter and all you have to protect is a helmet on your head – let’s say it was my heart racing.
I’m also in New York. Unless I was driving over the Williamsburg Bridge, I usually had to hit low-disc brakes for a few minutes because of traffic lights, cars, or pedestrians. The chances of riding faster than 20 mph are slim. However, it’s nice to get that power.
One thing to dig into your head is to never switch from one twin engine to another when driving. The company says it is “like going down from the sixth gear to the first gear in the car, and it can cause a fall or injury due to a large deceleration.” Yikes. After reading that, I never pressed a button until I stopped recklessly.
The orange button next to the red Single / Dual button switches the ghost between Eco and Turbo modes. The turbo button allows the scooter to reach maximum speed on demand. Eco, of course, increases engine efficiency. It slows down your travel rate significantly, but is very useful if the Ghost is approaching a battery and has a long way to go before it.
Most importantly, whatever the speed, the ride itself is very comfortable. The 10-inch tire springs feel paired with a double-spring suspension system that makes you slip across most roads, and even the streets that are punctured by the streets don’t feel too rough. (I don’t recommend using it off-road.) It yes The IP54 is water resistant, and that level of protection worked when it rained lightly and it snowed in January, even though the shelters didn’t do much to keep my shoes from getting wet and dirty.
The brakes are said to have regenerative braking, which means they will recharge the battery as it stops. However, I didn’t notice any noticeable battery gain.
Ghost Rider
At the end of the walk it’s easy to fold the Ghost, but not as fast as you’d like. You need to spend a few seconds turning the rod between the handle, which requires a bit of force to undo at the bottom of the main stem that allows the folding mechanism. You can lower the stem and attach it to the hook on the back of the deck to keep it in place. It takes up storage size, but is still too high to fit under the sofa.
Worse still, it’s a 64-pound machine! That’s heavier than that folding fat tires electric bike. Don’t expect to carry this scooter easily.
