[ad_1]
It’s no secret that our unsustainable choices affect our health and the planet. We are producing 300 million tons of plastic each year, 50% of it is for single-use purposes, which is used for a few moments, but has been in the plans for hundreds of years. And research has shown that all this plastic that stores our food, beauty products, and beyond is having a detrimental effect on our health. Did you know that exchanges of organic products can cause a lot of change?
That plastic food bag thrown away from the store after your quick commute? Waste management tells us that it is about 14 billion used every year in the US.
I’m generally ecologically, but over the last year I’ve tried to really think about how my habits affect my wallet, my health, and broadly the planet. Most of us are to blame for the explosion leftovers inside plastic bags, and often a quick paper towel turns into ten. After all, what’s so hard about getting to that glass food storage container or using a detachable dishrag? It’s easy to think that making more sustainable options will be expensive or unfortunate, but the reality is that once you make the exchanges and get into the habit of using them, you really saves money. Also, my favorite sustainable practice doesn’t cost anything at all, using what you already have.
I slowly exchanged it for the objects I had temporarily thrown away, I saw that live sustainable living it really doesn’t have to be overwhelming. There are small changes that everyone can make! Read 10 easy-to-use eco-friendly products for a healthier home and planet.
1. Swap plastic bags for snack containers or cleaning bags.
This is one of my favorite exchanges of organic products. There are so many reusable containers and bags available that you can find one that suits your needs and aesthetics. It scares me to think about how many plastic bags I used for all my childhood meals. Hundreds and hundreds! This simple exchange has a major impact on the environment. They are among my favorite reusable containers and bags bento boxes, Stasher bags, and glass snapware. Use sandwiches, leftovers, vegetables and anything else you can think of!
2. Swap the plastic wrap to wrap the beeswax.
This sounds kind of angry at first, but listen to me. You can replace what you would normally store on plastic wrap or paper towels with a reusable beeswax wrap. It’s my choice to make elegant cheeses and avocados. Have you eaten only half an apple? Wrap beeswax in some wrapping paper. It keeps food fresh and can’t last long. You can also use it to prevent bread from becoming obsolete. Pro-tip: make sure you wash it in cold water, the hot water will make the beeswax wax a bit gunky and it will lose its effectiveness. I have these options To collect bees, Browse Beeswax Wrap, and Lilybee Wrap.
3. Swap your coffee cup with the one you brought from home.
No one here asks you to start your daily coffee habit! But with plastic coffee lids going straight to landfill and paper cups not being recyclable once they are dirty, a travel mug is the way to go. There are now many options at different prices, so don’t break the bank for an easy exchange. Best of all, most coffee shops offer you a discount when you bring your mug. I have this sweet terracotta bowl W&P designsbut I love it Yeti travel mug, and Inflate opportunity.

If you’re a city dweller, try keeping it in an entrance closet, hanging on a door handle, or where you store your bag near the front door to remember that you need to take one out on the way to the market.
