Tehran, Iran – Iranian officials have called on the United Nations and Muslim nations to take steps to stop Israel from attacking “apartheid” Palestine, while the military commander has promised that Iran will side with the Palestinians.
The Iranian High Council for Human Rights – now the head of the judiciary Ebrahim Raisi and the top body of the National Security Council – has written a letter to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres calling for “genocidal” action and Israel’s “racial cleansing”.

He called on the UN to convene an emergency session of the General Assembly to address the issue.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani raised the issue on Sunday with his Turkish counterpart Recep Tayyip Erdogan, saying Iran and Turkey must join two key players in the region to call on the UN and the OIC to fight “crimes of aggression.”
Erdogan was told that the international community must offer a “strong and dissuasive response” and that the Muslim world must act as in the Palestinian issue.

Meanwhile, the commander of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard on Saturday made several phone calls with Ismail Haniya, head of the Hamas political office, and Ziyad al-Nakhalah, secretary general of the Islamic Jihad armed group.
General Ismail Qaani stressed Tehran’s support for Palestinians who suffer “crimes” from Israelis and admired the “successful response of the resistance forces to the violations of the Zionist enemy.”
