Israel exerted pressure to control settlers after the riots at the Al-Aqsa mosque

Israel was growing international pressure to control right-wing settlers and stop planned layoffs in a crucial neighborhood in East Jerusalem, which has sparked violent clashes between police and Palestinians inside the al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.

Bahrain and the United Arab Emirates, both of which signed a peace treaty with Israel last year, have condemned Israel, and the United States – the strongest ally of the Jewish state – has said it is deeply concerned about plans to expel several Palestinian families who have lived there. Sheikh Jarrah district for generations. Turkey called Israel’s actions “terrorism”.

“It is critical to avoid steps that increase tensions or take us further from peace,” said the U.S. State Department, which occupied the eastern West Bank, which includes East Jerusalem, listing it as an agent.

Thousands of Palestinian youths protested on Friday evening around the hills surrounding the al-Aqsa Mosque, and Israeli police fired rubber bullets and grenades to disperse the crowd after breaking the fast on Ramadan day. About 200 Palestinians were injured, none at all, and 17 policemen were injured, Palestinians and Israelis said.

Police said Palestinians threw rocks, fireworks and other objects at officers. Videos posted on the net showed police throwing wonderful grenades at the crowd, including one who entered the mosque, the third holiest site in Islam.

The mosque is located in an Israeli-controlled area, which was captured in East Jerusalem in 1967 from Jordanian control, but was managed by an Islamic foundation.

Turkish officials condemned Israel for its Al-Aqsa confrontation
mosque.

“Attacking the innocent during worship is a formidable terrorism,”
Fahrettin Altun Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey’s chief communications adviser, told TRT state media late on Friday. “These attacks on the Palestinian people are the most fundamental human rights violations, the whole world sees that. Unfortunately, a large part of the world, especially the West, plays three monkeys and is silent. ”

The place where the mosque is located is called the Temple Mount by the Jews, and is the largest holy site of Judaism, the original home of the second temple destroyed by the Romans in the 70s. Many Jews worship in the Western Wall, where the temple survives, and pray in the direction of prayer.

Jewish settlers have ruled for decades over Sheikh Jarrah, a middle-class Arab neighborhood between East and West Jerusalem, with the goal of turning the area into a Jewish majority.

Sheikh Jarrah is home to the famous Colony Hotel in the United States, a fairly wealthy middle-class Arab population, and ends at the entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem from the ancient Damascus Gate. The ancient tomb is also preserved by a Jewish high priest, Simon the Just.

In the long-running lawsuits involving several Palestinian families, it is hoped that the verdict will come soon, with family lawyers backing a ruling that will hand over their homes to settlers.

At the center of the dispute is whether the family was legally the owner of the home before 1967, when Jordan controlled the neighborhood. This property is technically recognized by Israeli law, but human rights groups have documented that Palestinians regularly lose property rights tribunals, especially in the occupied West Bank.

Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said they had already provided documentation that the families were “legitimate owners” of their homes.

Monday’s lawsuit is scheduled to be heard, which is Jerusalem Day, the anniversary of Israel’s victory in 1967, when it captured the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and East Jerusalem.

Although relatively peaceful in the rest of the country, Jerusalem Day is a common point between Palestinians in East Jerusalem and right-wing Israelis in Jerusalem.

Arab groups announced mass protests on Saturday, and Israeli police improved their armies with protests expected on Monday.
