Israeli police attack Palestinian protesters Sheikh Jarrah Middle East News

Israeli police used stun grenades and threw palettes at Palestinians in the tense Sheikh Jarrah district of East Jerusalem.

There were clashes between Jewish settlers and Palestinians in the early hours of the morning, and Israeli media reported that chairs and stones were thrown from side to side.

The Palestinian Red Moon has said 20 Palestinians were injured in the fighting and several reports say they have been arrested.

In late Monday, Israeli police were able to see a Palestinian house being attacked and a stun grenade thrown at residents.

Sheikh Jarrah has been the subject of frequent Israeli repression protests against Palestinian Palestinians, threatening to evict dozens of Palestinian families from their homes in favor of harsh groups of Israeli settlers.

Israel calls it a “real estate conflict” with Palestinians and rights groups highlighting discriminatory policies aimed at expelling Palestinians from Jerusalem.
