Cucas, or spicy molasses cookies, they are sweet cakes, resembling cakes with similar textures, and their name has caused ridicule from generations of mischievous children. Along with a Maltese pony, it was a great after-school combination: roasted sugar, spices and a side cake. on the other hand the satisfaction of a cold ice malt soda. These cuckoos since they are not as sweet as ordinary biscuits, they are a neutral base for creamy malt ice cream.
Malta is for Colombians what root beer is for Americans. And like cilantro or Hawaiian pizza, it’s a divisive flavor. You love or hate it.
If you laugh at the many connotations of the cookie name or can’t take a malt drink in your stomach, this recipe will make you rethink both. Do it cuckoos in advance and serve with Malt Ice Cream or salted caramel purchased at your favorite store. “
