BERLIN (Reuters) – Germany’s BMW plans to create 6,000 new jobs next year in preparation for growing demand for its electric vehicles, the carmaker’s CEO told the newspaper Muenchner Merkur.

BMW is well on its way to transformation and has set up electric mobility workshops, Oliver Zipse said in an interview on Wednesday. “That’s why we’re going to increase our staff by five percent next year.”

(This story directs the interview to clarify that Muenchner was with Merkur, not the news cable.)
