(Reuters) – CNN will close its offices in the United States to all non-essential employees as the COVID-19 case grows, the network said in an internal statement to employees seen by Reuters on Saturday.
CNN, part of AT&T Inc.’s (NYSE:) WarnerMedia division, will close its offices to all employees who do not work in the office, the statement said.
“We are doing this with caution,” CNN President Jeff Zucker said in a statement. “And it will also protect those in the office by reducing the number of people in it.”
Employees who need to come to the office will need to wear a mask at all times, CNN said.
The network will also make changes to its studios and control rooms to reduce the number of people in the offices, the statement said.
The Wall Street Journal reported the news for the first time.
The network set a date for his return to the temporary office in January and we don’t know if that date will move, the magazine reported, citing a person who knows the subject.
CNN requires all employees to be vaccinated against COVID-19 to come to the office or work in the field with other employees.
In August, the company fired three of its employees for coming to the office without a vaccine.
