Chevron has shut down Australia’s Gorgon LNG Train 1 after a small gas leak by Reuters

MELBOURNE (Reuters) – Chevron Corp. (NYSE 🙂 has shut down one of its three processing units, called Trains, after a small gas leak was found at the Gorgon Liquid (LNG) plant in Western Australia on Tuesday, a spokesman confirmed on Wednesday.
“The 1st train was shut down due to a small gas leak,” the spokesman said, adding that it was too early to know how long the unit would last. “We are preparing research and repair plans.”
Leakage 1. It was detected in pipes connected to the train dehydration unit and the unit was closed as a precautionary measure, he said.
Chevron is the owner and operator of 47% of the annual Gorgon LNG project at 15.6 million tonnes.
