There are very few WWE events that arrive on the calendar with an annual level of excitement Royal Rumble event. On Sunday night, it’s time to start the journey to WrestleMania as the 2021 Royal Rumble takes center stage and the best of the business is competing for the best challenge to win a world championship, on the biggest stage of all. Once again, both the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble matches will compete on Sunday night to compete for those opportunities.

The main destination of WrestleMania 37 – which takes place again over two nights – descends inside Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida on Saturday, April 10th and Sunday, April 11th.

This year’s Royal Rumble event is held on Sunday, January 31 at the ThunderDome at Tampa Tropicana Field. The top rope matches are almost certain to provide surprises, but there will be a full ticket to the action to fill the rest of the event, including the tournament’s great tournament potential. While the card is still in full swing, we’ve had a hard time predicting what will happen at the start of the WrestleMania 37 season.

The show will air live on the WWE Network at 7pm on ET after an hour-long session starting at 6pm

2021 WWE Royal Rumble Card

Men’s Royal Rumble: Daniel Bryan was the first man to indicate that he would take part in the Royal Rumble match, and many names are expected to come in the coming weeks. Of course, as every year, there will be plenty of surprises, so we won’t get to know the 30-person pitch before the event. But, you can expect most of the ones that appear regularly on Raw and SmackDown to enter the field. An initial surprise was that Edge announced that it would be participating in the final edition of Raw’s previous Rumble. Participants: Edge, Dolph Ziggler, Sami Zayn, Mustafa Ali, Jeff Hardy, Cesaro, Otis, Shinsuke Nakamura, Sheamus, AJ Styles, Jey Uso, John Morrison, The Miz, Bobby Lashley, Daniel Bryan, Big E, Randy Orton, Braun Strowman + 12 TBA

Women’s Royal Rumble: For the fourth time, women will have the opportunity to win the title by participating in a Royal Rumble. The first women’s Royal Rumble took place in 2018, when Asuka won the match but did not defeat Charlotte Flair at WrestleMania to win the Raw title. Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair won the next two years, both winning titles at WrestleMania. Raw and SmackDown locker rooms should start claiming for Rumble in the coming weeks. Participants: Nia Jax, Charlotte Flair, Bayley, Bianca Belair, Mandy Rose, Dana Brooke, Peyton Royce, Shayna Baszler, Alexa Bliss, Liv Morgan, Ruby Riott, Tamina, Natalya + 17 TBA

Universal Championship – Roman Reigns (c) vs Kevin Owens (Last Man Standing): Reigns took issue with WWE official Adam Pearce, a five-time NWA champion, by booking a match between Kevin Owens and Jey Uso, after Reigns beat Owens in two games of the universal tournament. Reigns and Paul Heyman pulled the strings to get Pearce into a match to determine Reigns ’Royal Rumble challenge. Pigeon and Reigns then attacked Shinsuke Nakamura, the last man standing in the game, to get three counts and a victory before Pearce prevailed. Eventually, the situation backfired when Pearc signed a contract for a Last Man Standing match, he was immediately “injured” while walking, and he immediately named Owens his replacement at the ceremony.

WWE Championship – Drew McIntyre (c) vs. Goldberg: While McInty had active stories with Keith Lee and Sheamus, he appears ready to pull off the conflict in another WWE Goldberg return. McIntyre beat Lee in a terrific match on Legends Night, but the moment after the match was immediately interrupted by Goldberg as the Royal Rumble threw up a challenge considering McIntyre’s disrespect for the legends that preceded him. McInty admitted the following week, accusing Goldberg of putting the words in his mouth.

Women’s Tag Team Tournament – Asuka and Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler: Baszler and Jax were not ready to leave after losing titles in the TLC against Asuka and Flair. The game is largely a product of the women’s label distribution, with no other challenge to make a major pay-per-view shot. Dana Brooke, Mandy Rose and Lacey Evans have been with the four women in the game as they can play with the problems and how they act.

Women’s Championship SmackDown – Sasha Banks (c) vs Carmella: Banks and Carmella have had trouble returning to action since Carmella attacked the champion. Banks have already survived Carmella’s challenge, but were given another chance at the title, on condition that Carmella’s sommelier Reginald win the fight individually. Banks defeated Reginald and, as promised, Carmella will have her chance at the Royal Rumble ceremony.
